What a fascinating post. I too am a Shiksa who embraces many Jewish traditions, more perhaps than my husband does, but I did not feel right about converting.
One of my children, and hence his children, are Orthodox, so it is doubly important for me to learn more about Judaism. To this end I have started my blog, www.Shiksapedia.com which I'd be honored if you would visit. I'll certainly be back to read more of Baby Smiling!

I love this post. I've actually come back to read it a few times and now I'm finally commenting. I did think you were Jewish and I love hearing this different perspective and path. Nothing profound--I just thought this was a wonderful post.

I am one of those who thought you were Jewish. Anyway, I finally looked up Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippor and have a better understanding of them!

This is such a thought provoking post. Religion or faith in anything for that matter is so abstract and really based on OUR perspective.

The person who came to mind as I read this is my pastor. I go to a Baptist church. He was raised Jewish and still practices. I don't know all the details and honestly, I don't feel right asking. But I smile every time I look at a Jewish Baptist Preacher. He is a damn good one though!

Thanks for sharing your faith journey.
